An Open Letter From The Girl Who Doesn’t Party…

Dear Reader,

First, I want you to know I am not stuck up. Just because my weekend agenda is different from yours does not mean I think any less of you. Sometimes I get the feeling that you think that.

I have probably gone a total of 5 times to parties or bars throughout my entire college existence.

The reason why I don’t go out often is probably not at all what you think… I am not against alcohol or social gatherings. Honestly it’s just that at the end of the day- I’m not that into it.

I prefer sitting around a bonfire, going to dinner, catching a movie… I also prefer less people and going to bed before midnight. Maybe that makes me sound like a granny, I don’t know… but I do not I’m not grumpy or hungover the next morning!

If given the choice, I will almost always pick the calmer environment.

My personality is somewhere in the middle of  introvert/extrovert spectrum. I am an extremely bubbly personality (ask anyone who knows me), but I just choose to spend my time differently than most people my age do. What can I say? I’m an old soul.

Yours truly,

The Girl who Doesn’t Party

  1. I am exactly the same, I always say that I am 25, but my soul is 52.

Likewise with the introvert/extrovert personality. It depends on the environment and the crowd, whether I feel accepted, whether I find common interests.

I don’t drink, so the bar scene isn’t for me, either.

    Thanks for posting!

  2. I can just as easily party with close friends all night as I will happily curl up in my couch under a blanket with a hot drink watching a movie. Because in reality what matters is not what others think, but what you want for yourself. So if you are happy being home and there’s nothing else you’d rather be doing, then that’s right for you! 🙂
